El Ático is Amigos del Tango's own milonga and practice space. The venue has two halls: the bigger milonga hall and the smaller practice hall.
Members, who have paid a practice fee, can come to the practice hall to train on their own or together with a partner whenever it suits them. The space can not be booked separately, and the only time it's not available for practice is when the association is organising a paid event (eg. milongas, concerts).
The practice hall has a CD player and tango records that members can use.
You get in to El Ático with a door card (key fob) on which you can load one-off payments or practice time. Practice time entitles to use of the practice hall during the period of validity. Door cards can be purchased and loaded with time and value by agreement, on Thursdays and Sundays in connection with milongas. Bring cash. It's possible to agree on other times to pick up the cards as well. Send an email to info@tango.fi.
You need to be a member in order to practice at El Ático. Membership is 25 € per calendar year.

El Ático's milonga hall has an excellent dance floor. The hall is suitable for balls, but serves as a venue for celebrations, events and performances as well.
The cozy dance hall accommodates small tables and chairs around the dance floor. It has a magnificent sound system also suited for live music.
The milonga hall can be booked when it's not marked for use in the booking calendar. The price is 20 € / h for members. If needed, there's 30 minutes in between each reservation, for arranging the hall so that it's in the same condition as it was at the beginning of the rental time.
Only members of the association can rent the space, and the purpose must be such, that it does not damage the floor or other decor. Amigos del Tango reserves the right not to rent the premises when it considers that the intended use does not comply with the principles or purpose of the association. To make a reservation, please send an email toinfo@tango.fi with your contact information, and state why you want to rent the hall (eg. private practice, group or private lessons, lectures, meditation, etc.)
How to get to el Atico
Tram 9 (direction Pasila), from Helsinki city center, stops in front of the building. The name of the stop is Jämsänkatu. Buses 22, 59, 505 and 518 also stop nearby. From Pasila railway station there's a few minutes walk to the dance studio.
When you are at the door, call us on +358 4585 6060 8, and the door will be opened to you from upstairs.
If you come by car you can usually find free parking close by, especially in the evenings and on weekends.
