We're not afraid of you, not anymore, because we have the perfect antidote:

the Helsinki Milonga Weekend!

​

As the autumn turns into winter, the Finnish tango community invites you to spend a warm weekend of lovely dancing with friends in Helsinki. Who cares what it's like outside?

Come and share moments of joy with us - just when we need them the most!

The concept is simple but brilliant:

A series of milongas chained together with local but well-known DJ's, no registration

is required, but this year we offer a pre-purchase milonga pass,

to make the entry quicker and easier.

Tapahtuma koostuu sarjasta milongoja, joissa soittavat paikalliset DJ:t.

Ennakkoilmoittautumista ei tarvita, mutta tänä vuonna tarjoamme milongapassia 

helpottamaan ja nopeuttamaan sisääntuloa.

Volunteering

If you wish to help us organize the event and work for 6 hours in total,

we will offer you the whole weekend for free!

Price includes food (soup Friday, brunch Saturday and Sunday) coffee and snacks (during the whole weekend). You are welcome to bring your own bottle of refreshments/alcohol. On Saturday we welcome you to bring some of your local/favorite snacks for the Potluck.

As there is no registration required, we are not making any promises regarding leader/follower balance at the milongas.

if you are coming - we need to know how much food to prepare!

If you are a group of followers travelling together,

we encourage you to use your charm and allure to bring some leaders

along with you; everyone will be grateful!

How to get there

The best connection:

take tram number 9 (towards Pasila) which stops in front of the building.

The stop is called “Jämsänkatu”.

Buses number 50 and 59 also stop across the street.

El Ático is a few minutes' walk from Pasila railway station.

General information

El Ático is a dance studio run by the tango association Amigos del Tango.

AdT organise regular weekly milongas on Thursdays and Sundays.

There are regular classes as well as workshop weekends and concerts throughout the year. The dance studio is also for rent and its cushioned floor is perfect for dancing!

Amigos del Tango annual membership fee is 25 €.

Your PERSONAL INFORMATION collected during the registration will be stored for approximately 6 years*. The council of Amigos del Tango ry and the organizers of the Helsinki Milonga Weekend have access to this information for the purposes of Helsinki Milonga Weekend, and Amigos del Tango for their membership needs, if you reside in Finland. Your information will not be made available to any third party nor used for any other purpose. Residents of Finland must be active members of the Amigos del Tango association for tax purposes; Foreign residents are exempt - but are encouraged to join (on www.tango.fi).

 

We will employ OFFICIAL PHOTOGRAPHERS at the event. By registering and/or participating in the Helsinki Milonga Weekend, you accept that you may be visible in a photograph or video (portrait, art photo, embrace photo, group photo, panorama photo, visible in the background, video recording of dancing, etc). Any photos and videos posted from the event may be used by the organizers of Helsinki Milonga Weekend, online and offline, and for the promotional purposes of future events. Each photographer will post their pictures on Facebook and a photo storage site of their choosing. If you prefer not to be the primary subject in a photograph, we will provide you with a different colored wristband, and instruct the photographers not to target you, but you may still need to ask the photographer to remove a picture of you if they have inadvertently taken and posted online a photo, where you are clearly recognizable and can be considered the primary or secondary subject. You may remain visible in large group photos despite your desire not to be photographed.
