Light in Darkness –
Double Role & queer milongas
27. – 30.12.2024
El Ático, Helsinki

Welcome to spend a lovely double role & queer tango weekend at El Ático dance studio! We offer two workshops, four long milongas and an after party. In a friendly & cosy atmosphere we may relax, get to know each other and enjoy both dancing and socializing.

You are most welcome to stay for our local association's traditional New Year's Eve Potluck Milonga on Tuesday 31.12. In addition, you may f.ex. try out Finnish sauna and ice swimming or explore Helsinki with old & new tango friends.

Workshops with Theresa Faus

Our special guest, the experienced tango DJ and teacher Theresa Faus from Munich will give two workshops, in which we'll search for tools for increasing musicality in our dance. We'll be actively changing both roles and couples at the workshops. Workshop times include an approx. 30 min break.

Open level, but not for complete beginners. Limited amount of spots so reserve yours on the registration form!

General info and extras

During the weekend we'll offer a platform on which those who'll stay in town can easily agree on doing stuff together: perhaps a sushi lunch or a pizza dinner, a museum visit or sightseeing in good company? Why not a tango flash mob in the central library?

SAUNA and OUTDOOR SWIMMING: on Tuesday afternoon, before the New Year's Eve milonga we'll make an excursion to a lovely place with three different saunas and a possibility to drop yourself in the ice cold sea. Everyone needs to book their own ticket from the sauna venue Löyly's website – be early because they will sell out for sure! Instructions will be sent for those who book a milonga pass.
