Have you recently started dancing Argentine tango? Maybe you are one of this year's newly hatched tango chicks? A triumphant survivor of a beginners' intensive course? Or have you danced for several years but haven't quite figured out how milongas work?
Welcome to try out the skills you have already learned, get to know other fresh tango dancers and the tango community, or come and enjoy an evening coffee or tea accompanied by good music on the best dance floor in Helsinki.
Beginners and tango dancers who still feel unsure about taking your chances on the dance floor: this is a relaxed event designed specifically with you in mind. Come and meet other tango dancers and share the experience. In the middle of the evening there will be a a cambio tanda, during which couples will be changed regularly. Who knows, you might even find a practice partner!
LESSON:
Introductory lesson to milonga etiquette and practices from 5 to 6 pm. Avoid confusion, learn the basics about Argentine-style dance events (milongas). The lesson will give you some information about how milongas work, highly recommended for newcomers! What exactly are milonga, tanda, ronda or cortina? How do tango people behave on the dance floor? Maybe navigating among other couples makes you nervous or you don't know how to invite people to dance. Tango dancers sometimes do things a bit differently from other dancers. Ask anything you want and enjoy social tango!
Also, there are gorgeous tango shoes and dresses for sale at the studio!
Would you like to join the host team and come to weekly milongas for free? Email us at info@tango.fi or come and talk to the host at the milonga.
