TANGO (double role) FREEDOM/SUPPORT

Fri, Mar 27

|

El Ático

In the March workshop, Saana will continue with the basics of the barre. We will practice technique, especially from the perspective of the connection between the supporting leg that carries the body's weight and the moving, free leg.

Time & Location

Mar 27, 2026, 6:00 PM – 8:30 PM

El Ático, Kumpulantie 1, 00520 Helsinki, Suomi

About the event

How can the dance between the supporting leg that carries the body's weight and the moving, free leg be as light, strong and dynamic as possible at the same time? At the same time, our understanding of the structure of the pole, its movement and follow-through, and the connection between the pair deepens.

As a practical application, we will learn about exciting GANCHOS and review BOLEOS (you don't necessarily need previous experience with them either).

Instead of figure exercises, we focus on the whole: understanding the elements of the barre, contact and interaction, understanding your own and others' movements. How to do easily what may seem difficult.

To participate in the course, you must have danced tango to some extent in both roles or, if you are just starting to double, you are already quite proficient in your previous role.

If you're unsure of your skills, you're probably unsure for no reason. 😁

Warmly welcome!
